All About
Have you found something tucked away in the attic or closet? Are you wondering what it is or how old it is? Bring it to Artifact ID Day at the Museum. It's free and everyone is invited.
Museum curators, members of the Geology Club, and a guest archeologist are all available to take a look at your "attic treasure" and assist in its identification. (Sorry, monetary appraisals cannot be given as per the IRS.) We can help you with information about the age of your object, where and how it was made, and how it was used. We can also provide information and hand-outs about taking care of your items-how to clean, preserve, and store your precious treasures.
Among the types of artifacts welcomed at Artifact ID Day are: historic memorabilia; military memorabilia; paints, prints, and drawings; sculpture and ceramics; rocks, stones, and other geological specimens; fossils; natural history specimens such as feathers and animal bones; and archeological discoveries. It's always fun to see what people bring!
