What You'll See

A look at the 100 year history of Bellin Health featuring photographs, medical instruments and medical artifacts.

Exhibit Details

The exhibit will guide visitors through Bellin Health's journey of providing health care to the people of Northeast Wisconsin, beginning with Dr. Julius Bellin founding his original hospital in 1907 in a converted home, located on Adams St. in downtown Green Bay, and following the locally-based health system on a timeline through its growth phases and significant events.

The exhibit features historic photographs from the Bellin corporate archives and period medical instruments from the museum's collection. Among the medical artifacts on display is a portable X-ray machine dating from the mid-1920s used by physicians making house calls.

In addition to the timeline, the exhibit also features a video depicting highlights from the history of Bellin Health. In the video, Dr. Julius J. Bellin, portrayed by Green Bay educator and actor Michael Troyer, guides visitors through the history of what today has become Bellin Health System.

The Neville Public Museum of Brown County is pleased to partner with Bellin Health in sponsoring this exhibit. "Bellin Health is a Green Bay institution. We congratulate them on this milestone and join the community in celebrating their first one hundred years of service," said Eugene Umberger, executive director of the museum.
