Exhibit Details

Using historical footage and photographs from the Neville Public Museum's collection, as well as contemporary interviews, these eight videos explore the relationship of the Packers to the local community off the field.

Real Residents

What was it like to be both a player and a fan in the NFL's smallest market? Find out how players felt about living in Green Bay, why Bart Starr loved Halloween, and how fans and stars rubbed elbows with each other in Green Bay during the golden age of Packers football.

Community Spirit

What makes the Packers different? It's the fans! The team has always enjoyed a huge level of support—from everyone from local businesses to U.S. presidents. Listen to fans explain just why they love the Packers, and learn how to properly tailgate at Lambeau Field.

Community Commitment

Over the years, the local community and the Packers have consistently worked together to make Green Bay a better place for everyone. Explore how and why Packers players have participated in charity events and why so many players volunteer their time to give something back to Green Bay!

Green Bay's Largest Citizen

Even during the dismal early-to-late 1950s, attendance at Packers games continued to grow. Finally the old stadium could no longer contain the team's thousands of fans. A site was chosen for New City Stadium (now Lambeau Field) and it was built for one million dollars! This video shows the field under construction, and explains how the new stadium was dedicated with a parade of bands, floats, and celebrities in 1957.

Covering the Packers

Have you ever wondered what it's like in the press box? Take a trip behind the scenes and learn what it's like to cover the team. From interviewing Coach Lombardi, to the growth of media coverage, to the questions that make coaches mad, this video reports on the reporters!

Vince!

The greatest Packers coach ever? This video explores the life and times of Vince Lombardi with photographs, classic film footage, and interviews with people who knew him. From his first post-victory interview to his farewell press conference, learn what made Lombardi great!

Honoring Heroes

The Packers have a long history of honoring its football heroes. Occasionally the City of Green Bay also recognizes individuals whose contributions to the community go beyond the football field. Learn about the great celebrations in Green Bay, how Lombardi Avenue was named, why the President of the United States visited on Bart Starr Day, and much more!

Packers Scrapbook

Do you know how many dairy products the Packers consumed during the 1961 training season, how many cheerleaders made up the cheering squad in 1979 or how the playing field was prepared for game day in 1960? Get the answers and learn more about how the Packers made the news and created memories in this scrapbook of events.
