Located at 301 West Mason Street, the Junction Hotel was built to take advantage of this intersection of the Kewaunee, Green Bay and Western Railroad and the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. This photo was taken in 1890, several years after the hotel opened. The building was razed in 1962 after a disastrous fire. The Otto Stiller Collection.

Packer Ticket OfficePacker Ticket Office#8254.101 Featured August 2008

Erected in 1890 and located on the northwest corner of Walnut & Jefferson Streets, the building was originally used as the annex to the old Brown County Court House. Later it became the home of the Green Bay Women's Club. In the 1940s, the American Legion and the Green Bay Packer Ticket Office occupied the site before it was razed in 1955 to make way for a new post office.

This photograph was taken in 1924, shortly before the building was razed to make way for the new East High School. Built in 1894, the clubhouse was an entertainment center for the east side of Green Bay. It included a dance hall, bowling alley, and tavern.

This photograph was taken in 1889 from the steeple of St. Willebrord's Church and looks northeast from the intersection of South Jefferson and Doty Streets. In the far left foreground is the Albert Weise home (present site of the WBAY building) and the vacant lot to the right is where the Kellogg Public Library was built in the early 1900s. The back of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral is also visible in the background.

This early 1900s photograph was taken from the chimney of the Wisconsin Public Service Company at the corner of Stuart and Washington Streets. The view shows the northeast side of Green Bay with St. Willebrord's Church visible on the right.

These boys use a net to catch the maximum amount of fish in Baird's Creek in this 1923 photograph. Today a part of the Green Bay Park System, the Baird Creek Parkway still provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor enjoyment.

A crowd gathers as street car tracks are dug up on South Broadway in August of 1939. Street car service began in 1893 on the west side of the Fox River. The line consisted of three street cars, a power plant and several miles of track and trolley. A year later track was laid on the east side of the river.

In the early 1900s, John Becher and his sons operated a store at the corner of Lime Kiln Road and East Mason Street. Later businesses at that location included Manci's Supper Club and the Prime Steer. Today the site is occupied by Hollywood Video. The Henry Lefebvre Collection.

Otto Kaap had been at 212 South Washington Street for almost ten years when this photograph was taken in 1923. First located on Main Street in 1909, he moved to 211 Pine Street a year later. The need for more space prompted his move to the Washington Street location where he opened for business May 1, 1914.

Club members decorated Turner Hall in preparation for their 10th anniversary dance on May 7, 1911. Organized in 1901 by a group of young men, the Powhatan Club sponsored numerous dances and other social events. The club's membership was gradually absorbed by the Elks Club and within a few years after this photo was taken, the club was dissolved. The Otto Stiller Collection.
