All films begin at 7:00pm and are free and open to the public. Screenings on the 1st Wednesday of the month will occur in the auditorium of the Neville Public Museum.

July 31, 2024 - | Announcing scholarship funding for the 2024-25 school year for youth field trips - Green Bay, WI—July 31, 2024— With the 2024-25 school year right around the corner we are thrilled to announce thanks to generous gifts to the Neville Public Museum Foundation, ALL public, private, and charter schools and some additional qualifying organizations will receive FREE field trip admission to the Neville Public Museum for the 2024-25 school year. This includes both Self-Guided Field Trips and Guided Program + Field Trips. Additional field trip add-ons do not qualify for scholarship funding. |

May 20, 2024 - | "Reclaimed Creations" Art Exhibit Opens Saturday, June 1st! - Green Bay, WI—May 20, 2024— The amazing sculptures of Sayaka Ganz will be shown at the Neville Public Museum from June 1 to September 29, 2024. Artist Sayaka Ganz utilizes reclaimed plastic objects such as discarded utensils. She describes her style as “3D impressionism.” Sculptures in the exhibition include recent installations of animals in motion which are rich in color and energy, and create an illusion of form. |

Mar. 15, 2024 - | "Art Against The Odds: Wisconsin Prison Art" Exhibition Opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—March 15, 2024— Art Against The Odds: Wisconsin Prison Art features more than 60 artists who turned to creative production to mitigate the de-humanizing conditions of incarceration. The exhibition is divided into six thematic sections: Solitary confinement, landscapes, portraits, letter writing, scarcity of materials, and time/seriality. In addition, several cell-sized room installations reflect on aspects of confinement. A 178-page catalog with essays and artist pages accompanies the show. |

The 2024 ‘s celebration exhibition theme was Bridging Cultures, Celebrating Differences. Exhibiting now at the Neville Public Museum are the award-winning works of creative writing and illustration by 19 Kindergarten through 12th grade students representing 13 area schools. |

Jan. 22, 2024 - | 109th Green Bay Art Colony exhibition opens on Saturday! - Green Bay, WI—January 22, 2024— The Green Bay Art Colony is a growing and thriving group of female artists. Established by nine women in September 1915, the Green Bay Art Club held its first public art exhibition in the Kellogg Public Library at 125 S. Jefferson St. The exhibit was so popular with the community that the decision was made to create a permanent museum and by 1917, the Green Bay Public Museum was founded. The museum was renamed the Neville Public Museum in memory of Green Bay Art Club member Ella Hoes Neville and her husband Arthur, a local historian. |

Prange’s department store windows are featured in this exhibit along with the Enchanted Forest, the Snow Babies and charming forest animal collections. Bruce the Spruce, the lovable talking Christmas tree who once chatted with holiday shoppers at Prange’s, is awake at select times to talk with guests. The Children Only Shop, a whimsical re-creation of the H.C. Prange’s holiday experience, is back for its twelfth year in a row! June 7, 2023 - | Pop Up Exhibit "Room 108: The Clearing" Opens Saturday at the Neville Museum! - GREEN BAY, WI June 7, 2023 – Room 108: The Clearing is a locally filmed movie set in a dual timeline of 1899/1900 and 1999/2000. Filming was originally inspired by a Wisconsin urban legend set at the Vic Theatre in Green Bay (now the Orpheum Theatre) where a double murder and homicide occurred after opening night of a new Broadway play. When Freddy Moyano, director, co-writer and one of the actors of Room 108: The Clearing, read about the urban legend, it inspired him to create his own take on it for an independent movie. |
May 15, 2023 - | Traveling Contemporary Art Exhibition Opens Saturday at the Neville Museum! - GREEN BAY, WI May 15, 2023 – BLOW UP II: Inflatable Contemporary Art explores the medium of inflatable art with figurative, conceptual, and abstract imagery. These large-scale inflatable sculptures, conceived by nine artists and art collectives, connote fun and whimsy, are familiar yet strange, and challenge the definition of art. Here, in an unusual feat, artists use air as an active tool in their work to subvert our perspective and surprise us. |

Abrahamson will be on display at the Neville Public Museum starting Saturday, April1, 2023.This exhibit presents the groundbreaking career of Wisconsin’s first woman justice, her impact on the Wisconsin court system, and her place in history. It highlights causes she championed—women’s rights, civil rights, public understanding of the court system, and the importance of an independent judiciary. It presents these themes through archival photos, video clips, stories, and quotations.

Mar. 21, 2023 - | Neville Public Museum Receives Highest National Recognition Awarded Re-Accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums! - GREEN BAY, WI – March 21, 2023 – The Neville Public Museum of Brown County has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded the nation’s museums. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside agencies, and to the museum-going public. The Neville Public Museum of Brown County was initially accredited in 1972. All museums must undergo a reaccreditation review at least every 10 years to maintain accredited status. |

This juried art exhibition began in 1942 during the height of World War II. For three-quarters of a century, many of this region’s most celebrated and talented artists have exhibited their work as part of this Green Bay tradition. The open call for art for the 77th Art Annual is July 15 through September 30, 2022. |
July 1, 2022 - | I Am Not Invisible Traveling Exhibition opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—July 1, 2022--The War Memorial Center I Am Not Invisible traveling exhibit highlights local women veterans and current military personnel and their military service experience in every branch and from every service era from WWII through the present.
Created in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans, this exhibit tells the stories of 31 Milwaukee-area women veterans and current military service personnel, plus one war correspondent who embedded with Wisconsin troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bios provide an honest look at what it means to serve, and the opportunities open to women – and the challenges they face – in the U.S. military. The exhibit comprised of 32 retractable banners will be on display at the Neville Public Museum July 2 through August 4, 2022. |

Bam! Bang! Boom! Sound is all around us. From the croak of a frog to the latest music hit. Explore how sound is made, how it moves, and how we hear. Sound! is an internally created, family-friendly exhibition featuring over sixty historical artifacts from the Neville Public Museum Collection and ten hands-on interactive stations. The hands-on stations feature a pipe organ, a sound laser, and an Oscylinderscope where you can explore how strings behave when they vibrate and make sound. |

Artists were asked to explore the theme of “functional” artwork – from a table to a teapot or a tool – or by simply bringing joy with beauty. The idea of “functional” art doesn’t have to be obvious: it could be as simple as a painting on a wall. You might be thinking: “What function does a painting serve?” It could be to make you think, to provoke emotion, to bring joy, to cover a hole in the wall, or even cause a giggle! |

Jan. 21, 2022 - | Green Bay Art Colony exhibition is now open! - Green Bay, WI—January 21, 2022— In September 1915, the Green Bay Art Club held its first public art exhibit in the children’s room of the Kellogg Public Library (125 S. Jefferson St.). This exhibit laid the foundation for a permanent museum in the library in 1917, which became the Neville Public Museum. Ever since then, Colony artists have held an annual art exhibit at the Neville Public Museum.
For more than a century, hundreds of women artists have been part of the Green Bay Art Colony. These women continue to inspire each other, educate the public, encourage new artists, and give scholarships to art students. Styles and club rules may have changed, but the dream to keep art and culture part of the community remains the same. |

Supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Communities for Immunity is an initiative of the Association of Science and Technology Centers, the American Alliance of Museums, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Network of the National Library of Medicine. It provides funding awards and support to museums and libraries engaging their communities to boost COVID-19 vaccine confidence. As trusted community partners, museums and libraries play a critical role in building vaccine confidence and fighting the pandemic. |

The grant will fund the exhibition and public programming for HerStory opening in February of 2022. The HerStory exhibit will feature the roles of women at work, in politics, and in their communities demonstrating drastic change through time over the last 100 years. |

As a "Community Engaged Artist" for the Wisconsin Tele-Stories Project run by TimeSlips, she made weekly phone calls with nine elders in the Green Bay and Wausau areas. Stacey had the task of presenting "beautiful questions" to engage their minds and hear their stories. "Beautiful questions" are a facet of the Timeslips program. |

Sept. 25, 2020 - | Witness the building of a large-scale sculpture of a sea creature! - Bring the family and join the FAB COLLAB on Saturday, October 3, 2020 for a live outdoor sculpture build on the grounds of the Neville Public Museum. The Fab Collab (Fabrication Collaboration) will be building a large-scale sculpture of a sea creature!
Sculpture is art but so is the process of developing and creating sculpture. The Fab Collab maximizes on both qualities for an art engagement. Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the artists’ work as though they are in the artist's studio. The artists provide demonstrations on carpentry, metal fabrication, textiles, and mixed media assemblage. They are there to work as much as they are there to answer questions and explain their artistic process. Big thank you to The Neville Public Museum Foundation. |
Sept. 23, 2020 - | Recently Conserved Civil War Gown Now On Exhibit - Guns & Gowns features twenty historic gowns and forty firearms from the collection of the Neville Public Museum of Brown County.
When researching gowns for the exhibit staff came across a dress donated by Josephine Buchanan Lenfestey in the 1990s. They were fascinated with the signature silhouette, plaid silk, and puffy sleeve design, and knew they wanted to find a way to exhibit it. Because of its condition it had not been exhibited since its donation. The decision was made to send this dress off for conservation to the Midwest Arts Conservation Center in Minneapolis. |
Aug. 28, 2020 - | Neville Public Museum Weekly Day Camp Program - Whether you are looking for a break in a long week of virtual school, need a few hours of childcare to run errands, or want to have some time to get some work done from home, our drop-off day camps will keep the kids busy with some fun activities.
Register for one or multiple dates. Registration for each Thursday closes the preceding Friday at noon. Registration for museum members is $15 and $20 for non-members. We require a minimum of five campers per date. If attendance falls below that level, we will transfer your registration to a different date or issue a refund. |

Jan. 24, 2020 - | 105th Green Bay Art Colony Exhibition - Green Bay, WI—January 24, 2020— In September 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (turned Green Bay Art Colony in 1927). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition at the former Kellogg Public Library. This exhibition of shawls, artworks, and artifacts was the birth of the Neville Public Museum.
Today the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes professional artists as well as talented emerging artists. The title of this year’s annual Green Bay Art Colony exhibition, The Legacy Continues, reflects this 105-year-old tradition of cultivating the creative economy of the greater Green Bay area. Twenty-six artists reflect this legacy in their thirty-eight submitted works across multiple mediums. |

Green Bay, WI—September 26, 2019 — Dale Kuipers (1947-1996) realized his love for horror and art at an early age. By the age of 11 he was already creating dinosaurs, monsters, and aliens in his parents’ basement. He was known for creatively crafting things that go bump in the night for haunted houses in the area. Dale also worked for a short time in Hollywood as a special effects and make-up artist. |

We are pleased to announce that Associated Bank has gifted the Neville Public Museum "Loggers.” This morning Renco Machine Company, INC. removed the sculpture from the grounds, loaded the public art onto two trucks and moved it offsite for minor restoration. Re-instillation will take place this fall on the south side of the Neville Public Museum. |

Green Bay, WI—March 22, 2019— In 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (turned Green Bay Art Colony in 1928). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition in the basement of the former Green Bay Public Library. This exhibition of shawls, artworks, and artifacts was the birth of the Neville Public Museum. Today, the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes professional artists as well as talented emerging artists. The title of this year’s annual Green Bay Art Colony exhibition, My Thoughts Exactly, reflects the challenge artists were given to work collaboratively with another Colony artist. While not all of the works were collaborative, the diverse talents of these 29 artists are reflected in the 50 submitted works. |

Green Bay, WI—January 17, 2017— In 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (it turned into the Green Bay Art Colony in 1928). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition in the basement of the former Green Bay Public Library. This year’s exhibition pays tribute to the vast Neville Public Museum collection from which the artists garnered inspiration. Artists chose artifacts and photos from the Neville’s collection to inspire their pieces. Pieces chosen as inspiration will be on display with the artwork. Today, the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes many professional artists with significant reputations as well as talented emerging artists. |

Green Bay, WI---May 5, 2016---The Neville Public Museum has a new addition to the grounds-a mammoth sculpture by local artist Carl Vanderheyden. Carl is a welder and uses mostly recycled steel and other “found objects” to create spectacular lifelike sculptures like eagles, angels, and now, a mammoth. The mammoth’s exterior was created from three recycled 250 gallon heating oil tanks from the Green Bay Area. It stands 7 feet tall and weighs 750 pounds. |

Green Bay, WI---July 11, 2014---The Neville Public Museum is pleased to announce the public restoration of a historic Kaap’s Restaurant booth and candy counter, which will be on display in the museum’s Century of Discovery exhibit. Restoration of the booth and candy counter will be performed by accomplished furniture maker, antique restorer, and the owner of Encore Restorations, Bill Robillard. Mr. Robillard, a graduate of the National Institute of Wood Finishing, often works in the restoration shop of the United States House of Representatives, and continues his studies with a retired Smithsonian furniture conservator. |

Green Bay, WI---March 10, 2014---Pieces from the Green Bay Art Colony will be on display in A Century of Discovery now through mid-April. The artwork displayed in this exhibition, Rediscovering Art, produced by the current members of the Green Bay Art Colony, is related to the theme of this larger exhibit — A Century of Discovery. The artists were challenged to produce pieces based on the art movements of the first third of the 20th Century, in association with the period when the Art Colony and Neville Public Museum began in 1915. The art world was in turmoil during those years and this exhibition reflects the influences of that period. |

Green Bay, WI---February 28, 2014---Not at Ease-A Veteran Print Project is on display now through June 1, 2014 at the Neville Public Museum. Featuring original artist prints from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s collection, Not at Ease was created through the Veterans Print Project, which seeks to document oral history through artwork. The project paired 20 female Wisconsin veterans with 20 printmakers. The veterans shared their stories and the artists created prints inspired by this discourse. |
