Sept. 9, 2024 -	Spectacular Science: Weather Opens Saturday! - Green Bay, WI---September 9, 2024--- As part of the Neville Public Museum’s internally created Spectacular Science exhibition Weather opens to the public Saturday, September 14, 2024. This exhibit engages visitors in the science behind some of Mother Nature’s most dramatic and destructive events. From blizzards to tornadoes, visitors will explore how these phenomena form, how they affect our region, and how people can prepare for them.

Aug. 14, 2024 -	The Green Bay Film Society Presents: Fall 2024 International Film Series - Green Bay, WI—August 14, 2024— The Green Bay Film Society Presents: Fall 2024 International Film Series at the Neville Public Museum. All films begin at 7:00pm and are free and open to the public. Screenings on the 1st Wednesday of the month will occur in the auditorium of the Neville Public Museum. All films are free and open to the public and are unrated but intended for a mature audience.

July 31, 2024 -	Announcing scholarship funding for the 2024-25 school year for youth field trips - Green Bay, WI—July 31, 2024— With the 2024-25 school year right around the corner we are thrilled to announce thanks to generous gifts to the Neville Public Museum Foundation, ALL public, private, and charter schools and some additional qualifying organizations will receive FREE field trip admission to the Neville Public Museum for the 2024-25 school year. This includes both Self-Guided Field Trips and Guided Program + Field Trips. Additional field trip add-ons do not qualify for scholarship funding.

July 25, 2024 -	We've Been Voted Best Museum and Art Gallery for the Eleventh Year in a Row - Green Bay, WI—July 25, 2024—For the eleventh year in a row the Neville Public Museum of Brown County has taken 1st place in Green Bay for “Best Museum” and “Best Art Gallery.”

July 1, 2024 -	Call for Art 79th Art Annual Juried Exhibition - Green Bay, WI---July 1, 2024--- The 79th Art Annual exhibit is an all-media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Artists working in any medium are invited to apply. Established and emerging artists welcome.

May 20, 2024 -	"Reclaimed Creations" Art Exhibit Opens Saturday, June 1st! - Green Bay, WI—May 20, 2024— The amazing sculptures of Sayaka Ganz will be shown at the Neville Public Museum from June 1 to September 29, 2024. Artist Sayaka Ganz utilizes reclaimed plastic objects such as discarded utensils. She describes her style as “3D impressionism.” Sculptures in the exhibition include recent installations of animals in motion which are rich in color and energy, and create an illusion of form.

Apr. 4, 2024 -	"An Artistic Discovery," a High School Art Competition, now open at the Neville Museum - Green Bay, WI---April 4, 2024---An Artistic Discovery is on display at the Neville Public Museum through May 12, 2024. This exhibition features 43 works of art from 9 schools produced by high school students in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District.

Mar. 26, 2024 -	NWTC Artisan and Business Center Annual Showcase Opens on Saturday - Green Bay, WI---March 26, 2024--The Annual Showcase is a juried exhibition featuring the artwork of NWTC Artisan and Business Center (ABC) students, staff, faculty, and residents. Artists who have participated in or been supported by ABC programming are encouraged to apply and participate in this Annual Showcase.

Mar. 15, 2024 -	"Art Against The Odds: Wisconsin Prison Art" Exhibition Opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—March 15, 2024— Art Against The Odds: Wisconsin Prison Art features more than 60 artists who turned to creative production to mitigate the de-humanizing conditions of incarceration. The exhibition is divided into six thematic sections: Solitary confinement, landscapes, portraits, letter writing, scarcity of materials, and time/seriality. In addition, several cell-sized room installations reflect on aspects of confinement. A 178-page catalog with essays and artist pages accompanies the show.

Mar. 11, 2024 -	Neville Public Museum Hosting NPM Geology Club Rock and Mineral Show - Green Bay, WI---March 11, 2024---The Neville Public Museum of Brown County is set to host the Neville Public Museum Geology Club’s Rock, Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, and Fossil Show on April 6-7, 2024. The show includes craft demonstrations, rock ID, and features dealers with a worldwide selection of specimens, custom jewelry, and finished beads.

Feb. 13, 2024 -	Bridging Cultures, Celebrating Differences Now Open! - Green Bay, WI – February 13, 2024 –Since 1995, Brown County and Oneida Nation students have been challenged to paint, draw, or draft a piece of creative writing celebrating a theme inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The 2024 ‘s celebration exhibition theme was Bridging Cultures, Celebrating Differences. Exhibiting now at the Neville Public Museum are the award-winning works of creative writing and illustration by 19 Kindergarten through 12th grade students representing 13 area schools.

Feb. 5, 2024 -	Telling Our Stories: LGBTQ+ Voices of Northeastern Wisconsin Exhibition Opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—February 5, 2024— LGBTQ+ history extends long before the iconic Stonewall Uprising and milestone historical moments continue to be made daily. Explore some of the courageous pioneers, influential moments, and hard-won victories for the LGBTQ+ community at the local, state, and national level.

Jan. 29, 2024 -	Youth Art Month Exhibit now open at the Neville Public Museum - Green Bay, WI---January 29, 2024---In partnership with the Wisconsin Art Education Association experience over 155 creative works of art by students in grades K through 12 from thirty-four schools in Northeast Wisconsin.

Jan. 22, 2024 -	109th Green Bay Art Colony exhibition opens on Saturday! - Green Bay, WI—January 22, 2024— The Green Bay Art Colony is a growing and thriving group of female artists. Established by nine women in September 1915, the Green Bay Art Club held its first public art exhibition in the Kellogg Public Library at 125 S. Jefferson St. The exhibit was so popular with the community that the decision was made to create a permanent museum and by 1917, the Green Bay Public Museum was founded. The museum was renamed the Neville Public Museum in memory of Green Bay Art Club member Ella Hoes Neville and her husband Arthur, a local historian.

Nov. 6, 2023 -	Holiday Memories of Downtown Green Bay Opens Saturday at the Neville Public Museum - The animated figures that once adorned the H.C. Prange’s department store windows are featured in this exhibit along with the Enchanted Forest, the Snow Babies and charming forest animal collections. Bruce the Spruce, the lovable talking Christmas tree who once chatted with holiday shoppers at Prange’s, is awake at select times to talk with guests. The Children Only Shop, a whimsical re-creation of the H.C. Prange’s holiday experience, is back for its twelfth year in a row! Children ages 4-12 are invited to purchase from an assortment of holiday gifts for $4 each and have them gift-wrapped. Find the perfect present for everyone on your list! Entrance to the Children Only Shop is included with museum admission.

Oct. 21, 2023 -	78th Art Annual Juried Exhibition Now Open at the Neville Public Museum - Green Bay, WI---October 21, 2023--- The 78th Art Annual exhibit is an all-media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A total of 54 artworks by regional artists are represented in is show juried by Emily Schlemowitz.

Sept. 27, 2023 -	"Morbid Curiosities" the Exhibit & "Nightmares at The Neville" Movie Series - Green Bay, WI---September 27, 2023--- The Neville Public Museum has thousands of artifacts in our collection. Most of them are regular items you would expect people to use in their everyday lives. Others, however, have a more disturbing or macabre past.

Sept. 7, 2023 -	Spectacular Science: Candy Chemistry Opens Saturday! - Green Bay, WI---September 7, 2023--- As part of the Neville Public Museum’s internally created Spectacular Science exhibition, Candy Chemistry opens to the public Saturday, September 9, 2023. Dive into the sugary world of candy and explore the complex science behind making tasty treats.

Aug. 4, 2023 -	Down By The Shore exhibition opens Saturday! - Green Bay, WI---August 4, 2023--- From personal reflections and observations to memories of special times spent Down By The Shore, these 23 fiber art pieces from 17 regional artists showcase a wide, rich variety of subjects and personal interpretation of the exhibit’s theme.

June 7, 2023 -	Pop Up Exhibit "Room 108: The Clearing" Opens Saturday at the Neville Museum! - GREEN BAY, WI June 7, 2023 – Room 108: The Clearing is a locally filmed movie set in a dual timeline of 1899/1900 and 1999/2000. Filming was originally inspired by a Wisconsin urban legend set at the Vic Theatre in Green Bay (now the Orpheum Theatre) where a double murder and homicide occurred after opening night of a new Broadway play. When Freddy Moyano, director, co-writer and one of the actors of Room 108: The Clearing, read about the urban legend, it inspired him to create his own take on it for an independent movie.

May 15, 2023 -	Traveling Contemporary Art Exhibition Opens Saturday at the Neville Museum! - GREEN BAY, WI May 15, 2023 – BLOW UP II: Inflatable Contemporary Art explores the medium of inflatable art with figurative, conceptual, and abstract imagery. These large-scale inflatable sculptures, conceived by nine artists and art collectives, connote fun and whimsy, are familiar yet strange, and challenge the definition of art. Here, in an unusual feat, artists use air as an active tool in their work to subvert our perspective and surprise us.

Mar. 31, 2023 -	Two New Exhibits Open at the Neville Public Museum on Saturday - GREEN BAY, WI March 31, 2023 – Justice for All: The Legacy of Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson will be on display at the Neville Public Museum starting Saturday, April1, 2023.This exhibit presents the groundbreaking career of Wisconsin’s first woman justice, her impact on the Wisconsin court system, and her place in history. It highlights causes she championed—women’s rights, civil rights, public understanding of the court system, and the importance of an independent judiciary. It presents these themes through archival photos, video clips, stories, and quotations. The Annual Showcase is a juried exhibition featuring the artwork of NWTC Artisan and Business Center (ABC) students, staff, and faculty. Artists who have participated in or been supported by ABC programming are encouraged to apply and participate in The Annual Showcase.

Mar. 21, 2023 -	Neville Public Museum Receives Highest National Recognition Awarded Re-Accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums! - GREEN BAY, WI – March 21, 2023 – The Neville Public Museum of Brown County has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded the nation’s museums. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside agencies, and to the museum-going public. The Neville Public Museum of Brown County was initially accredited in 1972. All museums must undergo a reaccreditation review at least every 10 years to maintain accredited status.

Jan. 30, 2023 -	New interactive exhibition on aerospace innovation to launch this Saturday! - Green Bay, WI—January 30, 2023— Above and Beyond, an interactive science exhibition exploring transformative innovations in aerospace, will launch Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Neville Public Museum The tour is sponsored by Boeing [NYSE: BA], developed in commemoration of Boeing’s 100th anniversary.

Sept. 9, 2022 -	Morbid Curiosities - Green Bay, WI---September 9, 2022--- Join us for the Neville’s 6th annual Morbid Curiosities program. This one-hour event takes place in our behind-the-scenes collections storage area and the new Generations Gallery. Tours will begin on the hour at 6pm and 7pm. We will take a close look at some of the strange, macabre, and unexpected items the museum has collected over the years.

July 15, 2022 -	Call for Art - 77th Art Annual Juried Exhibition - Green Bay, WI---July 15, 2022--- The 77th Art Annual exhibit is an all-media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This juried art exhibition began in 1942 during the height of World War II. For three-quarters of a century, many of this region’s most celebrated and talented artists have exhibited their work as part of this Green Bay tradition. The open call for art for the 77th Art Annual is July 15 through September 30, 2022.

July 1, 2022 -	I Am Not Invisible Traveling Exhibition opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—July 1, 2022--The War Memorial Center I Am Not Invisible traveling exhibit highlights local women veterans and current military personnel and their military service experience in every branch and from every service era from WWII through the present. Created in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans, this exhibit tells the stories of 31 Milwaukee-area women veterans and current military service personnel, plus one war correspondent who embedded with Wisconsin troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bios provide an honest look at what it means to serve, and the opportunities open to women – and the challenges they face – in the U.S. military. The exhibit comprised of 32 retractable banners will be on display at the Neville Public Museum July 2 through August 4, 2022.

May 20, 2022 -	Sound! Exhibition opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI---May 20, 2022---Sound! Opening on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Bam! Bang! Boom! Sound is all around us. From the croak of a frog to the latest music hit. Explore how sound is made, how it moves, and how we hear. Sound! is an internally created, family-friendly exhibition featuring over sixty historical artifacts from the Neville Public Museum Collection and ten hands-on interactive stations. The hands-on stations feature a pipe organ, a sound laser, and an Oscylinderscope where you can explore how strings behave when they vibrate and make sound.

May 6, 2022 -	An Artistic Discovery, a High School Art Competition, now open at the Neville Museum - Green Bay, WI---May 6, 2022---An Artistic Discovery is on display at the Neville Public Museum through May 25, 2022. This exhibition features 49 works of art from 12 schools produced by high school students in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District, currently represented by Congressman Mike Gallagher. Representative High Schools include Appleton North High School, Appleton West High School, Bay Port High School, De Pere High School, Denmark High School, Kimberly High School, Luxemburg-Casco High School, New Holstein High School, Renaissance School for the Arts, Winneconne High School, Wrightstown High School, and Xavier Catholic High School.

Mar. 18, 2022 -	NWTC Artisan and Business Center: What’s Your Function? exhibit opens Saturday - Green Bay, WI—March 18, 2022 — What’s Your Function? is a juried exhibition hosted at the Neville Public Museum featuring the artwork of NWTC Artisan and Business Center students, artists, staff, and faculty. Artists were asked to explore the theme of “functional” artwork – from a table to a teapot or a tool – or by simply bringing joy with beauty. The idea of “functional” art doesn’t have to be obvious: it could be as simple as a painting on a wall. You might be thinking: “What function does a painting serve?” It could be to make you think, to provoke emotion, to bring joy, to cover a hole in the wall, or even cause a giggle!

Jan. 25, 2022 -	The Peoples March Continues…. Now Open! - Green Bay, WI—January 25, 2022— Since 1995, Brown County students have been challenged to paint, draw, or draft a piece of creative writing celebrating a theme inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme is “The Peoples March Continues….” Exhibiting now at the Neville Public Museum are the award-winning works of creative writing and illustration by 24 Kindergarten through 12th grade students from Brown County representing 15 area schools.

Jan. 21, 2022 -	Green Bay Art Colony exhibition is now open! - Green Bay, WI—January 21, 2022— In September 1915, the Green Bay Art Club held its first public art exhibit in the children’s room of the Kellogg Public Library (125 S. Jefferson St.). This exhibit laid the foundation for a permanent museum in the library in 1917, which became the Neville Public Museum. Ever since then, Colony artists have held an annual art exhibit at the Neville Public Museum. For more than a century, hundreds of women artists have been part of the Green Bay Art Colony. These women continue to inspire each other, educate the public, encourage new artists, and give scholarships to art students. Styles and club rules may have changed, but the dream to keep art and culture part of the community remains the same.

Jan. 12, 2022 -	Why Do Museums Matter? Neville Public Museum Survey - We at Neville Public Museum care deeply about making the history, science, and art we share with you, our community, and visitors, meaningful. But we need your help. To learn more about how visitors like you engage with us, we are participating in a national survey of museum-goers, sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums. This survey will provide us with data to help us more effectively share our work with the communities we serve.

Dec. 8, 2021 -	The Neville's Generations Gallery Introduces Women Artists - Green Bay, WI—December 8, 2021— For over a century the Neville Public Museum has collected and preserved history. We encourage you to explore our vast collection through a variety of themes and the stories of the people of Northeastern Wisconsin in the Generations Gallery. In the 2019-2020 core gallery renovation, we promised an accessible gallery that rotates the museum’s artifact collection to provide a new experience at each visit. We are happy to announce that we have updated The Art Section to focus on Women Artists.

Oct. 29, 2021 -	76th Art Annual Juried Exhibition Now Open at the Neville Public Museum - Green Bay, WI---October 29, 2021--- The 76th Art Annual exhibit is an all-media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A total of 40 artworks by 39 artists were chosen by juror George Williams, Professor of Visual Arts at Beloit College.

Sept. 23, 2021 -	NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM RECEIVES FUNDING TO SUPPORT VACCINE CONFIDENCE IN BROWN COUNTY! - Green Bay, WI—September 23, 2021—We are pleased to announce that the Neville Public Museum has been awarded funding from Communities for Immunity in support of its work to promote vaccine confidence in Brown County. Supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Communities for Immunity is an initiative of the Association of Science and Technology Centers, the American Alliance of Museums, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Network of the National Library of Medicine. It provides funding awards and support to museums and libraries engaging their communities to boost COVID-19 vaccine confidence. As trusted community partners, museums and libraries play a critical role in building vaccine confidence and fighting the pandemic.

Sept. 17, 2021 -	Neville Public Museum is a 2021 grant recipient of the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay Community Foundation! - Green Bay, WI—September 17, 2021— We are pleased to announce that the Neville Public Museum is a 2021 grant recipient of the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay Community Foundation! The grant will fund the exhibition and public programming for HerStory opening in February of 2022. The HerStory exhibit will feature the roles of women at work, in politics, and in their communities demonstrating drastic change through time over the last 100 years.

Aug. 4, 2021 -	Life Form Art Installation is Open! - Green Bay, WI—August 4, 2021— Life Form is an installation by local textile artist Stacey Burkhart. As a "Community Engaged Artist" for the Wisconsin Tele-Stories Project run by TimeSlips, she made weekly phone calls with nine elders in the Green Bay and Wausau areas. Stacey had the task of presenting "beautiful questions" to engage their minds and hear their stories. "Beautiful questions" are a facet of the Timeslips program.

July 30, 2021 -	Neville Public Museum Earns the 2021 Wisconsin Historical Society Museum Exhibit Award - Green Bay, WI—July 30, 2021— The Neville Public Museum of Brown County has received the 2021 Museum Exhibit Award from the Wisconsin Historical Society for its renovated Generations Gallery. This award category recognizes institutions with an annual operating budget exceeding $50,000.

July 21, 2021 -	Generations Gallery Introduces Childhood - Green Bay, WI—July 21, 2021— For over a century the Neville Public Museum has collected and preserved history. We encourage you to explore our vast collection through a variety of themes and the stories of the people of Northeastern Wisconsin in the Generations Gallery. In the 2019-2020 core gallery renovation, we promised an accessible gallery that rotates the museum’s artifact collection to provide a new experience at each visit. We are happy to announce that we have updated The People of Northeastern Wisconsin section to focus on childhood.

June 22, 2021 -	"Beauty of the Beasts: Animal Art" Exhibition Opening This Saturday! - Green Bay, WI—June 21, 2021— Beauty of the Beasts: Animal Art is the Neville Public Museum’s’ newest internally curated exhibit focused about animals in art. This exhibit provides the museum the opportunity to present over 140 original art pieces from the permanent collection housed at the Neville Public Museum. The artwork is complemented with an installation by Green Bay artists known as the Fab Collab.

May 26, 2021 -	"Savage Ancient Seas" Exhibition Opening This Saturday! - Green Bay, WI—May 26, 2021— Savage Ancient Seas Exhibition is opening this Saturday at the Neville Public Museum! Not to be missed this summer, Savage Ancient Seas is the only traveling exhibit featuring the marine fossil world of the Late Cretaceous Period. The exhibit is filled with huge carnivorous marine reptiles, gigantic flesh-eating fish big enough to swallow an adult human, flying reptiles with the wingspan of a small airplane, and the biggest sea turtles to have ever lived.

Apr. 5, 2021 -	Doty Elementary LEGO contest creations now on display! - Doty Elementary LEGO contest creations now on display! Green Bay, WI—April 5, 2021— Green Bay Public Schools Doty Elementary School teachers Marie Miller and Alyssa Brown held their third annual LEGO building contest. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grades were challenged to build their unique LEGO creations during a duration of two weeks as part of the Doty Elementary LEGO Club. Building categories include: Structures, Vehicles and Artistic creations that are original to the students’ imagination.

Jan. 8, 2021 -	Reviving Traditional Arts of the Oneida Opening This Weekend - This exhibit is a partnership between the Oneida Nation Arts Program, the Oneida Nation Museum, and the Neville Public Museum. The exhibit highlights the cultural legacy of basketry, pottery, and silverwork among the Oneida people.

Oct. 29, 2020 -	75th Art Annual Juried Exhibition Now Open at the Neville Public Museum - The 75^th Art Annual exhibit is an all-media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A total of 54 artworks by 50 artists were chosen by juror Annemarie Sawkins (Independent Curator and Art Consultant).

In our ongoing efforts to provide authentic digital content, the new design provides a more integrated, relevant, and memorable way to discover what the Neville Public Museum offers our community. The new website includes high impact graphics and increased accessibility for navigation throughout the site. Work on the creation and implementation of the new site was provided by Konect (formerly DMI Studios) based in Green Bay, WI.

Sept. 25, 2020 -	Witness the building of a large-scale sculpture of a sea creature! - Bring the family and join the FAB COLLAB on Saturday, October 3, 2020 for a live outdoor sculpture build on the grounds of the Neville Public Museum. The Fab Collab (Fabrication Collaboration) will be building a large-scale sculpture of a sea creature! Sculpture is art but so is the process of developing and creating sculpture. The Fab Collab maximizes on both qualities for an art engagement. Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the artists’ work as though they are in the artist's studio. The artists provide demonstrations on carpentry, metal fabrication, textiles, and mixed media assemblage. They are there to work as much as they are there to answer questions and explain their artistic process. Big thank you to The Neville Public Museum Foundation.

Sept. 23, 2020 -	Recently Conserved Civil War Gown Now On Exhibit - Guns & Gowns features twenty historic gowns and forty firearms from the collection of the Neville Public Museum of Brown County. When researching gowns for the exhibit staff came across a dress donated by Josephine Buchanan Lenfestey in the 1990s. They were fascinated with the signature silhouette, plaid silk, and puffy sleeve design, and knew they wanted to find a way to exhibit it. Because of its condition it had not been exhibited since its donation. The decision was made to send this dress off for conservation to the Midwest Arts Conservation Center in Minneapolis.

Aug. 28, 2020 -	Neville Public Museum Weekly Day Camp Program - Whether you are looking for a break in a long week of virtual school, need a few hours of childcare to run errands, or want to have some time to get some work done from home, our drop-off day camps will keep the kids busy with some fun activities. Register for one or multiple dates. Registration for each Thursday closes the preceding Friday at noon. Registration for museum members is $15 and $20 for non-members. We require a minimum of five campers per date. If attendance falls below that level, we will transfer your registration to a different date or issue a refund.

Aug. 26, 2020 -	Huntowski to be honored as Daniel Whitney Award recipient at Greater Green Bay Chamber annual dinner. - The Neville Public Museum on behalf of the Greater Green Bay Chamber is pleased to announce Kasha Huntowski, executive director of the Neville Public Museum Foundation, has been selected as the 2020 Daniel Whitney Award recipient. She will be honored with the award at the Chamber’s annual dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the KI Convention Center.

The 65th annual poster contest and stewardship theme for 2020 is “Where would we BEE without Pollinators?”

Jan. 24, 2020 -	105th Green Bay Art Colony Exhibition - Green Bay, WI—January 24, 2020— In September 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (turned Green Bay Art Colony in 1927). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition at the former Kellogg Public Library. This exhibition of shawls, artworks, and artifacts was the birth of the Neville Public Museum. Today the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes professional artists as well as talented emerging artists. The title of this year’s annual Green Bay Art Colony exhibition, The Legacy Continues, reflects this 105-year-old tradition of cultivating the creative economy of the greater Green Bay area. Twenty-six artists reflect this legacy in their thirty-eight submitted works across multiple mediums.

Act Now. 25 Years of Advancing the Dream. - Green Bay, WI—January 27, 2020— Since 1995, Brown County students have been challenged to paint, draw, or draft a piece of creative writing celebrating a theme inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme is “Envision Change, Act Now.” Exhibiting now at the Neville Public Museum are the award winning works of creative writing and illustration by 23 Kindergarten through 12th grade students from Brown County.

Green Bay, WI—October 22, 2019— Over the past 200 years, the fashion and firearms industries have transformed. Dresses have gone from elaborate silhouettes using yards of fabric, to slimming and short designs. Guns evolved from a single shot sparked by flit, to automatic rifling.

Sept. 26, 2019 -	Green Bay's Monster Maker The Art of Dale Kuipers exhibit - Neville Public Museum opening of new temporary exhibit Green Bay's Monster Maker: The Art of Dale Kuipers Green Bay, WI—September 26, 2019 — Dale Kuipers (1947-1996) realized his love for horror and art at an early age. By the age of 11 he was already creating dinosaurs, monsters, and aliens in his parents’ basement. He was known for creatively crafting things that go bump in the night for haunted houses in the area. Dale also worked for a short time in Hollywood as a special effects and make-up artist.

Over 70 colorful and imaginative works by 14 artists represent some of the most innovative design techniques in the medium of fiber arts. This exhibition will be paired with sewing-related artifacts from the museum’s permanent collection.

Aug. 13, 2019 -	Loggers Coming soon to the Neville Public Museum - “Loggers” Coming Soon to the Neville Public Museum Green Bay, WI—August 13, 2019— Lyndon Fayne Pomeroy’s “Loggers” moved from the former Bank Mutual building to Renco Machine Company, INC. for restoration before relocation to the Neville Public Museum fall of 2019. We are pleased to announce that Associated Bank has gifted the Neville Public Museum "Loggers.” This morning Renco Machine Company, INC. removed the sculpture from the grounds, loaded the public art onto two trucks and moved it offsite for minor restoration. Re-instillation will take place this fall on the south side of the Neville Public Museum.

We are pleased to announce that Associated Bank has gifted the Neville Public Museum "Loggers.” “Loggers” is a fabricated steel sculpture depicting one man driving a team of two horses, transporting a large log on skids, with another man standing on the log, navigating.

Aug. 1, 2019 -	Li Hu Packers Fan Paintings Exhibit - Neville Public Museum opening new exhibit Li Hu Packers Fan Paintings Green Bay, WI—August 1, 2019— In celebrating the Green Bay Packers 100 year history, this art exhibit features the work of the late Professor Emeritus of Fine Art at UW-Oshkosh, and 2018 Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Fan Finalist, Li Hu. As a devoted Packers fan, Li Hu completed this series of oil paintings and illustrations in 2007. What drew the artist to be inspired by “Packers Nation,” was the game-day experience at Lambeau Field.

If so, join us for a morning of archaeology in the park developed in partnership with Brown County Parks and the Neville Public Museum. Located inside Lily Lake County Park are believed to be the remains of a lost sawmill. Come help us find where it once stood! This Parkaeology program will include a presentation on the park’s history, as well as a hands-on archaeological dig to locate any structures and artifacts relating to this historic sawmill!

Mar. 22, 2019 -	104th Art Colony Opening - Green Bay Art Colony: My Thoughts Exactly Opening This Weekend Green Bay, WI—March 22, 2019— In 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (turned Green Bay Art Colony in 1928). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition in the basement of the former Green Bay Public Library. This exhibition of shawls, artworks, and artifacts was the birth of the Neville Public Museum. Today, the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes professional artists as well as talented emerging artists. The title of this year’s annual Green Bay Art Colony exhibition, My Thoughts Exactly, reflects the challenge artists were given to work collaboratively with another Colony artist. While not all of the works were collaborative, the diverse talents of these 29 artists are reflected in the 50 submitted works.

This life-sized bull, titled Ferdinand, was made by local artist Carl Vanderheyden and is the second Vanderheyden sculpture on the grounds. Before arriving at the Neville in 2018, Ferdinand spent his first decade in Ledgeview, Wisconsin.

Almost a decade ago Cory Trepanier artist and filmmaker began his Into The Arctic project with the unique artistic goal of creating the most unprecedented collection of original oil paintings of our time from the Canadian Arctic. To accomplish this, Cory undertook 3 extensive Arctic painting/ filming expeditions, painting many landscapes that have never been captured on canvas before.

Jan. 17, 2017 -	Art Colony-Inspirations from the Neville - Green Bay Art Colony Inspirations from the Neville Opening This Weekend Green Bay, WI—January 17, 2017— In 1915, nine women began working together in a group known as the Green Bay Art Club (it turned into the Green Bay Art Colony in 1928). During the same year, the group organized its first exhibition in the basement of the former Green Bay Public Library. This year’s exhibition pays tribute to the vast Neville Public Museum collection from which the artists garnered inspiration. Artists chose artifacts and photos from the Neville’s collection to inspire their pieces. Pieces chosen as inspiration will be on display with the artwork. Today, the Green Bay Art Colony is an active organization of artists from the area. It includes many professional artists with significant reputations as well as talented emerging artists.

May 11, 2016 -	71st Art Annual - 71st Art Annual Juried Exhibition Opening at the Neville Public Museum Green Bay, WI---May 11, 2016---The 71st Art Annual exhibit is an all media, juried exhibition of current artworks produced by artists living in the counties of Northeastern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A total of 44 artworks by 33 artists were chosen by the juror, David Wells. Wells is the Director of the Edgewood College Art Gallery in Madison, Wisconsin.

May 5, 2016 -	Mammoth Sculpture and Naming Contest - Mammoth Sculpture Unveiled at the Neville…And It Needs a Name! Green Bay, WI---May 5, 2016---The Neville Public Museum has a new addition to the grounds-a mammoth sculpture by local artist Carl Vanderheyden. Carl is a welder and uses mostly recycled steel and other “found objects” to create spectacular lifelike sculptures like eagles, angels, and now, a mammoth. The mammoth’s exterior was created from three recycled 250 gallon heating oil tanks from the Green Bay Area. It stands 7 feet tall and weighs 750 pounds.

June 1, 2015 -	Christopher Winters Photography - Steaming Through the American Century: Maritime Photography by Chris Winters on display at the Neville Green Bay, WI---June 1, 2015--- When Milwaukee photographer and self-confessed “boat nerd” Christopher Winters ran across a Great Lakes steamboat nearing her 100th birthday, he approached the boat’s owner about documenting the remarkable longevity of the steamship St. Mary’s Challenger. It took him four years – and the latest in digital photography – to snap a half-million frames of the Challenger in action. This exhibit features spellbinding images of the historic ship and the daily routines of its dedicated crew.

This exhibition features 63 works of art from 14 schools produced by high school students in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District, currently represented by Congressman Reid Ribble. Representative High Schools include: Appleton West, Bay Port, Bonduel, Denmark, East De Pere, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Luxemburg-Casco, New Holstein, Notre Dame Academy, Oconto Falls, Renaissance School for the Arts, Wausaukee and Xavier High School. The Wisconsin History Tour: Sharing Wisconsin's Stories One Community at a Time centers on a handcrafted traveling exhibit and history-related programming that offers a sampling of the history and stories that the Society has been gathering since its founding in 1846. The exhibit will be on display at Neville Public Museum through March 15.

Oct. 14, 2014 -	Monowheel Conservation - Unique Neville Artifact to be Restored for Traveling Exhibit Green Bay, WI---October 14, 2014---The Neville Public Museum is proud to announce the conservation of one of its most unique artifacts, a wooden mono-wheel, that dates to the late 1800s. The wooden mono-wheel, a one-wheeled single-track vehicle similar to a unicycle, was donated by Frank J.B. Duchateau in 1943.

July 11, 2014 -	Kaaps Booth Restoraton - Witness the Restoration of a Kaap’s Candy Counter and Booth at the Neville Museum Green Bay, WI---July 11, 2014---The Neville Public Museum is pleased to announce the public restoration of a historic Kaap’s Restaurant booth and candy counter, which will be on display in the museum’s Century of Discovery exhibit. Restoration of the booth and candy counter will be performed by accomplished furniture maker, antique restorer, and the owner of Encore Restorations, Bill Robillard. Mr. Robillard, a graduate of the National Institute of Wood Finishing, often works in the restoration shop of the United States House of Representatives, and continues his studies with a retired Smithsonian furniture conservator.

July 1, 2014 -	Beth Lemke Named Director - Beth Lemke Named Neville Public Museum Director Green Bay, WI---July 1, 2014---Beth Lemke has been named Director of the Neville Public Museum in a unanimous vote by the Brown County Board. Beth has been serving as Interim Director since November of 2013.

June 25, 2014 -	Safe Harbor - Discover Local Lighthouses in Safe Harbor: Lighthouses of Green Bay at the Neville Public Museum Safe Harbor: Lighthouses of Green Bay is a brand new exhibit on the museum’s second floor mezzanine. The exhibit features historic photographs of lighthouses in Green Bay from the Neville Public Museum’s collection, as well as recent photographs taken by lighthouse enthusiast George McCourt.

Green Bay, WI---April 28, 2014---An Artistic Discovery will be on display at the Neville Public Museum on April 26, 2014 and runs through May 25, 2014. This exhibition features 47 works of art produced by high school students in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, currently represented by Congressman Reid Ribble. Representative High Schools include: Appleton (East and West), Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere (East and West), Kaukauna, Luxemburg-Casco, Notre Dame, Oconto, Renaissance School for the Arts, Sevastopol and Xavier High School. The artwork covers a range of media and subject matter, which collectively display diverse levels of talent and exceptional creativity.

Mar. 10, 2014 -	Art Colony - Rediscovering Art at Your Neville Public Museum Green Bay, WI---March 10, 2014---Pieces from the Green Bay Art Colony will be on display in A Century of Discovery now through mid-April. The artwork displayed in this exhibition, Rediscovering Art, produced by the current members of the Green Bay Art Colony, is related to the theme of this larger exhibit — A Century of Discovery. The artists were challenged to produce pieces based on the art movements of the first third of the 20th Century, in association with the period when the Art Colony and Neville Public Museum began in 1915. The art world was in turmoil during those years and this exhibition reflects the influences of that period.

Feb. 28, 2014 -	Not At Ease - Experience Veterans’ Stories through Not at Ease at your Neville Public Museum Green Bay, WI---February 28, 2014---Not at Ease-A Veteran Print Project is on display now through June 1, 2014 at the Neville Public Museum. Featuring original artist prints from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s collection, Not at Ease was created through the Veterans Print Project, which seeks to document oral history through artwork. The project paired 20 female Wisconsin veterans with 20 printmakers. The veterans shared their stories and the artists created prints inspired by this discourse.

Feb. 17, 2014 -	Time Capsule Discovery - Decades Old Time Capsule Discovered February 17, 2014---Green Bay, WI---A time capsule dating back to 1966 was discovered by Robert Bousley during demolition at the Brown County Mental Health Center. The Neville Public Museum has researched the contents and will house the documents that were enclosed.
