Decades Old Time Capsule Discovered

February 17, 2014---Green Bay, WI---A time capsule dating back to 1966 was discovered by Robert Bousley during demolition at the Brown County Mental Health Center. The Neville Public Museum has researched the contents and will house the documents that were enclosed.

The time capsule held information on federal law (the Community Mental Health Act) that had a local impact.  On October 31, 1963, President John F. Kennedy signed into law the Community Mental Health Act which drastically altered the delivery of mental health services and inspired a new era of optimism in mental healthcare. This law led to the establishment of comprehensive community mental health centers throughout the country.

The contents of the time capsule will be on display at the Neville Public Museum at the end of February.  Check our Facebook page and website for updates.
