October 2 Americans Smell Good (USA 2024)
Americans Smell Good combines filmmaker Emir Cakaroz’s story in the U.S.A. with people from different social, racial, and ethnic backgrounds that he wouldn’t have met if he hadn’t come to this country. It explores the experience of being in between many cultures when living in a foreign land. Cakaroz is a Turkish documentary filmmaker who teaches at UW-Milwaukee. He received his BA and MA degrees in Cinema and Television at Anadolu University in Turkey and will join us afterwards via Zoom for a live Q&A.
Screenings will be free. Face coverings are encouraged for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests. The Neville Public Museum is working closely with county authorities to maintain proper sanitation and disinfecting.
Screenings begin at 7:00pm. Screenings on the 1st Wednesday of the month will occur in the auditorium of the Neville Public Museum.
All films are free and open to the public and are unrated but intended for a mature audience.
