November 4: A Short Film about Love (Krzysztof Kieślowski, Poland 1988)

In 1989, Kieślowski wrote and directed a 10-part miniseries for Polish television that re-imagined the Ten Commandments set in contemporary Warsaw. He expanded two of the 1-hour episodes into feature length films, including Episode Six, his adaptation of the commandment Thou Shalt not Commit Adultery. Tomek, a naive 19-year-old postal worker, becomes dangerously obsessed with Magda, a promiscuous, jaded older woman living across the courtyard. He spies on her with a telescope and engineers encounters leading to a tense encounter between the two. Part of the UW-Green Bay LLI course.

Screenings begin at 7:00pm in the Neville Auditorium.

All films are free and open to the public and are unrated but intended for a mature audience.
