Nightmares at the Neville Night 1: The Last Man on Earth (1964)

Experience a classic post-apocalyptic horror film starring Vincent Price. Based on Richard Matheson’s novel I Am Legend, The Last Man on Earth follows Dr. Robert Morgan,
a scientist who believes he may be the last uninfected person alive after a devastating plague transforms humanity into vampiric creatures. As Morgan struggles to survive alone, he encounters another survivor who challenges his understanding of the plague—and his place in the world.

Directed by Sidney Salkow and Ubaldo Ragona, this atmospheric science fiction horror film was filmed on location in Rome and was the first of three film adaptations of Matheson’s novel.

Nightmares at the Neville Night 2: Theatre of Blood (1973)
October 13  Rescheduled to October 20th
6:00pm

Theatre of Blood (1973)

Enjoy a darkly comedic Vincent Price classic that brings Shakespearean drama to life in unexpected ways. Price stars as Edward Lionheart, a celebrated Shakespearean actor who seeks revenge on the theatre critics who dismissed his work. With the help of his devoted daughter, Lionheart begins targeting the critics one by one, staging elaborate acts of revenge inspired by the gruesome deaths found in Shakespeare’s plays.

Directed by Douglas Hickox and co-starring Diana Rigg, Theatre of Blood blends horror, comedy, and Shakespearean theatrics into a delightfully macabre cult classic.

Nightmares at the Neville Night 3: The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
October 27
6:00pm

The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)

Enter the strange and stylish world of Dr. Anton Phibes in this darkly comedic horror classic starring Vincent Price. Believed to have died years earlier, the brilliant and disfigured Dr. Phibes secretly returns to London seeking revenge on the medical team he blames for his beloved wife’s death. With the help of his mysterious assistant Vulnavia, Phibes devises a series of elaborate and bizarre murders inspired by the biblical Ten Plagues of Egypt.

Directed by Robert Fuest, The Abominable Dr. Phibes is celebrated for Vincent Price’s theatrical performance, its macabre humor, and its striking Art Deco-inspired visual style.

 Zack Kruse

Somewhere in time, along the misty mystic shores of Lake Michigan, Dr. Zack Kruse shambles and lurks, sifting through the sands of American subcultures. A scholar-maker at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Kruse is curious about how the politics and philosophies of the strange and unusual infiltrate our mundane lives. His book, Mysterious Travelers, changed the conversation about Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko and the impact of comics on 20th-century American thought and politics. He is currently in post-production on a documentary about Ditko, and he has a new comics series with Ditko's character Static forthcoming from Image Comics in 2027. If it’s weird, cast aside, forgotten, or has a lot of heart, Kruse is there, dragging it out of the fog.
