The Neville Public Museum

Expanding Culture & Curiosity Campaign

An Exciting Upgrade!

After thirty-six years, the core gallery on the second floor is closed to the public for a much-needed upgrade.  This allows the staff time to safely prepare and transport artifacts before the summer, when we'll begin a series of upgrades to improve the visitor experience. But don't worry...we're keeping some of your favorites like Stompy the Mastodon and the Ice Harvesting video!

How Did We Get Here?

The Neville Public Museum began over a century ago, in 1915, with a small exhibit organized by the former Green Bay Art Club in the downtown Kellogg Library. The exhibit was very popular and quickly outgrew its basement room.

By 1927, thanks to the generous support of the Neville family, a new Museum was built — the Neville Public Museum. The exhibits and  rapidly growing collections quickly outgrew this building, too.

In 1980, in a community-wide show of support, Brown County voters approved a tax levy to fund the construction of a new Museum building. The current Neville Public Museum building opened in 1983.

We Need Your Help!

We need the help of community-minded benefactors like you to help fund the renovation at the Neville, and enhance the quality of life in Northeastern Wisconsin.  We are also asking you, our members and loyal supporters, that during the upgrade process you visit and share with friends and family the exhibits held in our other galleries
