An Artistic Discovery features 49 works of art from 12 schools produced by high school students in Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District, currently represented by Congressman Mike Gallagher.

Representative High Schools include Appleton North High School, Appleton West High School, Bay Port High School, De Pere High School, Denmark High School, Kimberly High School, Luxemburg-Casco High School, New Holstein High School, Renaissance School for the Arts, Winneconne High School, Wrightstown High School, and Xavier Catholic High School.

The artwork covers a range of media and subject matter, which collectively display diverse levels of talent and exceptional creativity.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors this nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit entries to their representative's office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries.

Congratulations to all the teachers and student artist participants!
